How to Load, Scan or Copy and Paste a Picture

DM will accept file types: bmp, jpg, png or tif

 

To add a picture to an item or component, add or edit an item or component, then go to the picture tab.


There are three ways to load/upload pictures to items and components in Design Manager. 


1. Scan a picture

2. Load picture from a drive

3. Copy and Paste (from the Internet, image editing applications, or from within Design Manager to other components or items)

  1. Scan a picture ?
    • Click on the ?Scan? button and select your scanner. It must be a TWAIN compatible scanner.
    • Select the scanner you use.
  2. Load from hard drive ? *Mac Users see below (end of document)    
  • Click on the ?Load? button and a Load Picture window will appear.
  • On the left, find the folder that has your image and select that folder.
  • Generally you will need to search under the Local Disk (C:)
  • Choose the Users folder/directory to display the computers' Users.
  • Choose the User that you are logged into the Computer as.
  • This will display the Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders, among others, for that User. 
  • In the panel on the right select your image.
  • Click ?Open?.

When loading or saving files, Design Manager Cloud automatically displays all of the local drives on your computer. There is also a Favorites list at the top where you can add your most frequently used folders.  For example, browse to your My Pictures folder and drag that folder to the Favorites list.  From now on you can easily access your My Pictures folder with one click. 


3. Copy and Paste Picture

  • From your Web Browser, image editing software, or from the copybutton of another item or component, copy the image you would like to appear.
    • On a Mac, hold down the ?CTRL? button and click on the image. Then select copy.
    • On a PC, right click on the image and select copy.
  •  Go back to Design Manager and paste in the image using the paste button .

  • To find and load a photo into Design Manager from your Mac, you will need to use the Windows Explorer browser provided. 
  • Generally you will need to search under the Local Disk (C: on MacBook) on the Left-hand side


  • Choose the Users folder/directory to display the computers' Users.
  • Choose the User that you are logged into the Mac Computer as.
  • This will display the Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders, among others, for that User.


 

  • Choose the folder where your photo is stored.



  • Highlight the Photo and choose Open
